CAMPING

What: We will be camping/staying in cabins at McCormick's Creek State Park for the nights of Sunday June 4th and Monday June 5th. We will be hanging out around the park on the day of the 6th as well. There is an impressive waterfall and small cave we will be exploring during the trip. Expect lots of nature play, hiking, games, campfires, a night hike, and bonding time for kids and parents. 


How much: The cost of camping is $36 for the two nights, please get amount to Sybilla sometime in March or April. There will be a 7$ fee to get into the park if you don't own a pass. Cabins are 65$ a night. We will be doing two shared campfire breakfast and two shared dinners we will discuss how to split up the cost of this and what's on the menu closer to the date.



OPTIONS:

TENT CAMPING: Six camping spots (190-196) have been reserved in the primitive campground (tents only). These are all spoken for. If you wish to join us please reserve your own spot. 

Tent campers RSVP by  3-15-23 to 765-227-8582 and pay $36 by the end of April.


RV,CAMPER,CABIN: If you would like to rent a cabin or use your camper/rv grab a spot on your own. Please RSVP by the end of April so we can plan for shared meals. 


STAY FOR ONLY ONE NIGHT: You can come and join for just part of the trip and stay one night. Reserve the spot of your choosing at anytime. Some of us will be on the primitive tent sites 190-193. Please RSVP by the end of April so we can plan for shared meals. 


JOIN FOR ONE DAY: Come on down Sunday or Monday and join us for the cave or waterfall exploration and dinner. Please RSVP by the end of April so we can plan for shared meals.

Campground: Apr 4 2012 - Dec 31 2050 : INDIANA DNR FIREWOOD RULE: Effective March 17, 2012, a new firewood rule has been implemented on all DNR properties in order to help manage and conserve our forest resources. ONLY the following types of firewood may be used on DNR properties:


Kiln-dried scrap lumber.

From your home or other location in Indiana and has the bark removed. (Ideally, ½ inch of sapwood beneath the bark will also be removed.)

Purchased from a department store, grocery store, gas station, etc. and bears a USDA compliance stamp.

Purchased from a local firewood vendor outside the property and has a state compliance stamp with it.

Purchased from the property campstore or on-site firewood vendor and has a state compliance stamp.

CHECK IN / CHECK OUT TIMES

Check in / out time for camping is 2pm Mon - Sat, and 5pm on Sundays and designated summer holidays. Check in time for family cabins is 4pm, check out time is 11am. Check in time for group camps is 3pm, check out time is 12pm. Check in time for shelters and recreation buildings can vary, however, typically these facilities are available by 7am and must be vacated by 11pm on the same day. Check in time for rent-a-camp cabins is 3pm and check out time is 12pm.

ENTRANCE FEES & PERMITS

For cars, trucks and campers, the entrance fee for most properties is $7 per vehicle for in-state plates and $9 per vehicle for out-of-state plates, seven days a week including holidays. For Prophetstown, the in-state vehicle entrance fee is $8 and out-of-state is $10 per vehicle. For Indiana Dunes, the in-state vehicle entrance fee is $7 and out-of-state is $12 per vehicle. For pedestrians, bicycles, buses and passenger vans, the entrance fee is $2 per person. When staying overnight, you will be required to pay the entrance fee the first time you enter and your receipt will serve as your in/out pass the remainder of your stay. In-state annual entrance permits (AEPs) are $50. Out-of-state annual entrance permits are $70. Golden Hoosier permits are $25. The permits are available for purchase at the property and allow a customer access to any DNR property for the specified calendar year. FIREWOOD POLICY

The following types of firewood may be brought to DNR properties: Kiln-dried scrap construction lumber; Firewood of any tree species from Indiana with all bark removed; Firewood with a USDA (federal) or State of IN compliance label(usually sold at a department store, gas station, grocery store, by a local vendor near the park, or at the camp store on the property).
